Brand Minds Ticket Price – Costs

Let’s start with the price. These are the price packages for 2 people at Brand Minds:

It cost me 530 dollars for the Business Class ticket which includes:

• Access to the event on day 1 and the Marketing Masterclass on day 2.
• Access to the BRAND MINDS member platform and app
• BRAND MINDS participation certificate
• Food, coffee, water, wine, juice etc etc included

These are the types of tickets available:

• General Pass
• Business Pass
• First Class

Yes the last ticket is cool, but for a photo with the Main Speaker I don’t think it justifies the price. Sure the value of the ticket is always in the network (the people you meet through the ticket), but if you go for the general pass experience it’s enough (plus you can meet the same people if you have access to the event).

Considering all the action is happening on the first day of the event. Effectively all but one speaker presents on the first day of the event.

I flew from Switzerland to Bucharest so extra costs with transport + accommodation.

Line up Brand Minds

This year we had : Gary Vaynerchuck , Jordan B. Peterson , Gabor Mate, Dan Ariely, Whitney Johnson, Angela Oguntala and Mark Manson.

How it was at Brand Minds

I was pretty excited for Jordan Peterson. I read his book 12 rules of life and got some good ideas from it. During the presentation, he seemed a bit tired but besides the good ideas he presented, I was impressed by how well he knows how to interact with his audience.

For example, the other presenters didn’t move around the stage but Jordan Peterson walked to every corner of the stage and actually looked you in the eye when he sold you an idea. He often gestured at you to increase the intensity of the presentation.

But what impressed me most at the event was Mark Manson, who by the way I didn’t know wrote The Subtle Art of Not Giving a %*#.

I know this book is very popular, especially in the US but for me, it was quite average.

However, on stage, he is excellent as a speaker. First of all his presentation was very different from others. He started with the ending and actually made us laugh, saying after 3 seconds on stage “Goodbye, thank you! “. And then he explained what it means to start with the ending.

He was referring to the end of life. Namely that we should do things that we will enjoy when we reach the end of life.

For example, one thing he said that stuck in my mind was:

“The most meaningful work we do is the work that outlives us.”

And here he wasn’t just referring to the job but in general. For example, a child, raising and creating a child is something that will surpass your life.

And he’s right, for example, every time I create something that I know has the potential to stay even after I die that gives me the greatest satisfaction.

He then talked about goals and how important it is to choose them carefully because “we become the goals we choose”.

And he referred to Steve Jobs who always asked himself every day in the mirror if he was happy with what he was doing. And if the answer was no for too many days in a row, he changed what he was doing.

So it starts with the end. At the end of your life, what do you wish you could say you did?

Food and stuff

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food at Brand Minds. I like vegan food but I don’t think it’s okay to have only vegan food and not offer the possibility to eat something else.

Here I took a shot at the vegan buggers which were simply horrible. Slightly ranked as the worst burger I’ve ever had. And I actually had super tasty vegan burgers.

Wine okay, enough water, selection of juices etc.

Organization

On the organization side, I think they did a good job, registration was very smooth. There wasn’t a moment where I can say I stood in huge queues, nor at the food although there were about 5000 people.

But what really got me out of my head was this.

Whole rows of bottles on the seats.

People reserved their seats like that, and even though the organizers said at least 5 times not to do that, the people kept doing it.

It really ruins the experience. You couldn’t stand anywhere because someone would come up in the middle of the presentation and tell you that he booked his seat here 3 hours ago with a bottle of water…

And that’s how it was all day long, people coming and going when they wanted and putting the bottle on the seat…

Brand Minds please fix this problem it’s super annoying and ruins the experience.

We also had some super interesting lighting effects that gave the event a concert or music festival feel. It was really cool.

Brand Minds location

The Brand Minds event took place at ROMEXPO, 65-67 – Bld. Marasti, Bucharest – Romania

For those who are not from Bucharest, the location is quite accessible. It’s easy to get there from the airport (I took an uber), it took 20 minutes from the airport and cost 35 ron.

Also, you have accommodation possibilities through Airbnb or Hotel.

The people at Brand Minds

I don’t know what all the people at Brand Minds are like but the ones I met were brilliant.

Super open-minded, ambitious, and very interesting.

That’s how I met Razvan, for example.

Razvan is an architect by profession and has a lot of interesting projects that you can find on his website. He is a super cool guy and I learned a lot of stuff from him.

As I said one of the benefits of this event is the networking.

Speaking of networking, at the end of the event there was a Network Party at Fratelli’s and they gave you your first free drink for attending Brand Minds.

My attitude to this event was one of no expectations. And I think you should too.

I don’t expect to get rich overnight from a speaker’s idea when I go to events like this But if I get at least one good idea after the event it was worth it. Or even better if I meet an interesting person then it is a real success

Conclusion Brand Minds

And now to answer your initial question Yes! It’s worth going to Brand Minds. If you don’t want to read the presenters’ books, this is a quicker way to get ideas that make a real change in your life.

Another huge and I would say the main benefit is networking. Here you find cool, open, innovative people, leaders, teachers, and people who want to develop and grow. People like you. And I feel that’s what the organizers of this event ultimately want, to create a community.

Actually, there are hundreds of ways to say hi in Switzerland, depending on which canton you are in, but that’s for another blog post.

What I want to talk about are the words that occupied my mind today: “You can do anything you want with your life”. Such a simple sentence yet so powerful.

Looking back on my life I find this so true. I was born in the Republic of Moldova in a very small village. Since this country didn’t offer too many opportunities I went to Romania for primary school and high school. After that, I went to Denmark to get my bachelor’s degree, and now I am living and working in the capital of Switzerland, Bern.

And I am only 26 years old. So just do it, as Nike says. Life is short, live it, the way you want it.

I am happy to announce that I did all the things that I said I will do in my last post. I did learn german (not perfect though, but I can communicate :), I read those books, I took that drawing course, I was consistent.

And that’s how I think you build confidence, by keeping to what you promised.

Moving to Switzerland 30.03.2022

How did that happen?

I got an offer from CASCINATION as a Digital Marketing Specialist and I accepted.

CASCINATION is a Swiss medical device company with a mission to bring certainty to medical treatment outcomes. They use robotic and image-guided solutions to enable clinicians to perform reproducible and efficient interventions across a range of disciplines from cancer treatment to the treatment of hearing disorders.

Fighting cancer? That’s a big mission and one of the reasons for accepting this position.

Plus the city is amazing. You have green parks at every corner and a lot of cool buildings and offices. It’s like they managed to combine traditional with modern.

Another awesome thing about Switzerland is that you can choose how many percentages you want to work. The offer was 80%, meaning I will work 4 days per week and my Friday will be always free, so that gives me time to focus on whatever I want.

I don’t want to give the information too early but I am already thinking of creating something new

Just make sure you keep an eye from time to time for the updates.

In this article, I want to do a short review about 2020 and make “some” of my 2021 goals public.

For me, 2020 (age 24) started really well, my business was growing, and we had 3 profitable months (January, February, March). As soon as April came, restriction started, and everyone started to panic, and we lost some big clients.
It was my first year as an entrepreneur (bad timing, heh? :)). You could say it was bad timing, but it was the best entrepreneurship lesson I could ever get for me.

Always listen to the market. Be ready to adapt fast or die.

I want to thank 2020, the universe, and everyone who helped me (especially my girlfriend, without her, I really wouldn’t be mentally healthy this year, hehe )

I am grateful that I had (and still have) the opportunity to manage a full-time business with 2 employees at such a young age.

I am noticing that I am starting to enjoy more the process instead of the results, which I think is a good thing since everyone is preaching it :). When I was younger, I was obsessed with the end goal, and that’s it.

Now I am taking a moment to appreciate all the things I’ve learned along the way and find joy in the unknown.

What to expect from 2021

It’s been 4 years since I started to create smart goals for the next year. And honestly, now I could not see how I can enter in a year without having a plan to enjoy/live it

I am ready to share some of the goals here just because I plan to update the progress from time to time on my blog.

Okay, this year I will:

–Get a B2 Goethe German Certificate.

I have 0 previous knowledge of the German language, so that would be a fun and challenging thing to do

The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) suggests that you need about 750 hours to get to this level. I have less than 300 days till my exam date, which means I have to put 2 hours and a half per day to get to that level.

-Read at least 6 books.

Last year was 12 books; this year is down to 6 to meet my other goals. That is just 1 book every 2 months; the average book length is 300 pages. Even if I put 5 minutes per day into reading, I would still accomplish this goal.

-Do sports all year round

Last year because of the pandemic, I decided to go home gym (meaning I did exercises only with my body weight).

In September 2020, I started to run , and I ran 200 km in total.

I ran in the heat of 30 + degrees Celsius, in rain and on minus temperature. It’s amazing, after 5km in the rain at 7AM, trust me…nothing can put you down during the day hehe.

This year I have the same goal, just do sport, no pressure.

The only way I measure this is by answering a simple question: Have I done any type of sport at least 3 times this week? If the answer is yes, then I am on track.

And last year I achieved it. January 2020 started with a set of blood tests and everything was perfect. It was the first time in life when all my values were perfect.

I am not putting any pressure on myself with this goal; it’s the simplest goal because I’ve always loved doing sports and pushing my body to do the extra mile.

-Take one digital drawing course and draw at least 6 digital portraits

In December 2020, for Christmas, I received as a gift this digital drawing course. (thank you <3)

Now, what you need to know is I always flirted with digital drawing. Whenever I had bad days, I would go to the tablet and start drawing digitally.

I never took it seriously, it is just a relaxing/meditation type of thing.

This year, it’s time to watch and learn from someone who really knows what he’s doing :)).

I plan to finish the course by the end of the year and draw at least 6 portraits. If I’m not ashamed, maybe I’ll share a few on the website.

The course has 27 hours and 127 lessons.

I am hoping to improve my digital drawing skills by the end of this year.

Conclusion

Usually when I set my goals I make them on 3 levels:

1. Career
2. Sport/Health/Body
3. Personal Development (development on any possible level)

As you can see, I shared just number 2 and number 3.

The reason for doing this is that this year for number 1, I am ready to take a huge leap of faith, and I am not willing to make it public just yet.

It’s a turning point for my partner and me as well, and I think If we play it well, we will thank us when we will be older.

This month we hit 12 months since I am working for this website. One year! Happy Birthday! 

The plan for the next 12 months is to invest in backlinks.

I already started with a 155$ dollars backlink :). I am tracking all my costs using Google Planner. 

Total word count = 102,866

I hit 100k this month and I released this content marketing study case.

Which means from now on, I will post two articles per month. 

The Youtube Channel for this website has ten videos and 40 subscribers. The plan is not to give up till I hit 100 videos.

A happy experiment for me. When I started this website, I had no plan to grow it as I have now. I just had a writer who owns me 30.000 words, and I said, okay, let’s build a new website, and that’s how I started :))

With basically 0 research, just for fun.

Total word count = 58,145 (+8.000 words since last month)

I plan to add 10.000 words each month. I am a bit behind, but this will change from 2021. 

Traffic/ per month = 700 (+400 since last month)

The bounce rate is too high. I am looking for ways to decrease it. If you guys have any tips, that would be awesome

This month:

• I created two pages (homepage +about us) custom design using Elementor for authority. 
• I made my first backlinks.

Total word count= 39.593 (+6,883 words) 

Organic Traffic/per month= 1

The traffic is still 0, strange! It could be the fact that this niche is highly competitive or it got affected by this period, or it could be both hehe

Month 5

Total word count= 29.921 (no change, no articles added)

The organic traffic is improving even though I don’t do anything on this domain…

Back then, it was enough to spam your keyword in the content, and you would rank on the first page.

10 years later, the SEO game changed a lot. Now everyone is talking about backlinks and quality content.

It’s time to put this myth on a test and see if you really need backlinks to rank or quality content is enough?

And that’s what I did with a fresh domain for 10 months straight.

In this content marketing study case, I will share everything I learned from this experiment and some interesting results.

Content Marketing study case

The idea behind this experiment is simple: produce 100.000 words of content in 10 months and see what happens

It’s been 10 months since I started this journey, and today I completed 100.000 words for this website. Which is an equivalent of 6 hours and 51 minutes of reading time.

I believe this is something that anyone can achieve! It’s not something extreme, I’ve seen people who write 100k in a month.

The website

This experiment was done on a fresh domain with 0 history, 0 DA, 0 PA to see conclusive results and data. I had 0 authority and no backlinks.

The CMS I used was WordPress and a paid theme that my team and I customized a bit to fit my needs.

The plugins I used are:

• Akismet anti-spam,
• Asset CleanUp Pro: Page Speed Booster,
• WPBakery, Read Meter,
• MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress,
• Contact Form 7,
• Updraft,
• WP Fastest Cache,
• WP Word Count,
• Yoast SEO Premium.

The content

The average length for an article is 1081 words. I wrote articles with 4100 words and articles with 700 words.

If I can’t produce at least 500 words on a topic I don’t do it.

The overall subject I choose is easy to write about. Because it is my expertise, and that’s what I recommend, don’t write about something you have no idea about.
The research part will take a lot of time, plus it won’t be fun.

Process and tools

Before writing any words you have to research the keywords you plan to rank for. If no one is searching for that topic, you write for ghosts, no one will read your stories. (trust me, the blog era is dead)

To research keywords and ranking difficulty I used: Ahrefs and whatsmyserp (free version extension on chrome).

If you don’t have 99$ per month you can use the free trial, 7 days is more than enough to create a content list for an entire year.

My criteria to find long tail keywords that I can rank was:

• Minimum search volume 50
• Maximum 10 backlinks (position 1-3)
• An irrelevant subject for the keyword intent
• old/outdated article ranking in 1-3 position

If one or better all the conditions are met I add that keyword to the list. Then, I added titles/subjects to my content planner.

This is an example of how my content planner looked like:

The most productive period of the year for me was during the lockdown when I wrote like a monster

You can see in 4 months I wrote 49.915 words.

50k in 4 months, and keep in mind that I have 6 more websites to manage, but for those, I have writers to take care of my content :D.

To collect emails I used MailChimp, but I am thinking to switch to ActiveCampaign because I heard so many good things about it.

Now let’s talk about On Page SEO.

On Page Optimization

On-page SEO is the practice of optimizing content for search engines and users. Common on-page SEO practices include optimizing title tags, content, internal links and URLs.

All the content is optimized for:

• User experience
• Bounce Rate and Dwell Time
• Search Intent
• Page loading speed

The content structure is very well optimized (H1, H2, and H3). Every blog post has a good keyword frequency and external links to help Google figure out the page’s topic.

I optimized URL structure (something I neglected in the past). It’s very easy to do it:

1. Make your URLs short.
2. Include a keyword in every URL.

Seriously. That’s it.

I used unique, keyword-rich meta descriptions.

Last but not least, optimize your images. You want to give every image on your site a descriptive filename and alt text.

To rank you want to make sure that the content :

• Satisfies Search Intent
• Is Valuable
• and easy to read (use lists, images, and supporting material as much as possible)

In terms of speed I managed to hit these marks:

• Page Size < 800KB
• Fully loaded time < 2.4 Seconds
• 40 total requests or less
• 400 ms response time from the server or less

You can test your page for free using Google PageSpeed Inshights.

Last but not least, Author Biography. This section helps your website to build trust and authority in your content and brand.

Make sure you have one on your website! Include achievements that build credibility or are interesting to the reader.

Results

Here is the interesting part After all that hard work, we want to see the results, right?

Well here you have it.

Organic Traffic

Here is a screenshot from Google Analytics:

Organic traffic grew from 0 (December) per month to 472 (September) per month.

That’s 35.75% of the total traffic.

We are only in the tenth month, and I know from Ahrefs that it takes 1-3 years for an article to rank in the top 10 results on average.

And that means we will see the real results of this experiment in 24 months. I will make sure to update this study case every 2 months.

Bear in mind that this growth was made with 0 manually created backlinks!!!

What’s even crazier, some of the pages ranked on positions 2 and 3, and we got some natural backlinks.

The domain rating raised from 0 to 21 according to Ahrefs.

Google Search Console

Let’s take a look at Google Search Console now.

Ohhh yeah, that’s what I am talking about, 2500+ highly targeted people ready to consume, inform and buy. Over 320.000 impressions with an average position of 45.2.

Yes, you can achieve higher numbers in a general niche like Lifestyle, Fashion, Pet, etc., but then the message would be harder to communicate on such diverse traffic.

Google indexed 113 and excluded 276 pages.

The index rate is not that great, I am looking to improve it in the future.

Ohh, and after the announcement of Google releasing the Page experience update, make sure you have this in your GSC:

All URLs are good for mobile and desktop. You will find this option under the Core Web Vitals menu.

Email Marketing and Revenue

What interests us at the end of the day are conversions.
How many people actually care about us? Did they interact with our content? How many bought from us?

Here is a screenshot of my audience from Mailchimp:

Out of 2500 people who visited my website from search engines, 120 subscribed to my newsletter, which is a 4.8 % conversion rate. (keep in mind that I didn’t collect emails from the start )

Sure, this conversion rate can be a lot higher if I offered them something in return for their email. (and that’s what I plan to do next

And I am not talking about the generic “here, give me your email I will send you a newsletter every week”.

No.

I am talking about really offering something valuable, it could be:

• a 10.000 words free ebook full of informations,
• a video tutorial on how to ...

Things like this make your visitor to interact with your content and ultimately buy from you.

Moving on, here are the interaction after my first email campaign.

That’s 10 people who clicked on my link, 3 people who bought a product and one instant call

What could be done better

My first and biggest mistake was: I didn’t count all the leads coming from this website.

Their is an old saying “you can’t improve what you don’t measure”.

This means I don’t know my conversion rate, didn’t had any KPIS.

When you do things randomly you just float around hoping to catch something.

More than that I wasn’t collecting emails from the start, and I didn’t had a funnel.

Make sure you set up all these things before you starting your journey

What’s next

Here is how I plan to scale the website and make more money.

I am working on understanding better what’s my customer journey. This will lead to creating an effective sales funnel.

The only way to improve your online revenue without hiring 100 sales guys is by setting up a sales funnel.

Once I have that in place, I will unify my traffic sources into the sales funnel and scale.

If you manage to customize the visitor experience as much as possible you will have success, and that leads me to another thing I am looking to implement : chat bots.

Live Chat bots with logical jumps that creates your experience based on your choices. It’s a sales funnel, but instant

After implementing these I will check Google Search Console, get a list of top 5 article that brings the most traffic and put a custom banner on each page.

My conclusion from the content marketing study case

What I learned from this content marketing study case is that you can rank and have success with less than 100$ to invest. (ahrefs free trial, hosting and domain)

Of course, this takes time and effort, but eventually, good content will always win. Content created for humans, not search engine bots.

I am not saying you shouldn’t use backlinks (you will need them eventually), they are very good if you want to scale or you want to achieve results faster. But just so you know, you can start without them. Just be patient and produce epic content.

Another important thing is to measure everything. If you have metrics, you will know your next step and where to improve.

I am using my content planner to stay organised and focused.

My digital agency is starting to occupy 80% of my time. Which is cool, because September was the best month in terms of revenue since covid hit.

I am hoping we will survive.

Didn’t expect this one to grow that fast honestly, this one was more like a study case to me.

The organic traffic is improving even though I built 0 backlinks for this website.

Organic Traffic is still 0 per month. I understand that this crisis hit this niche, but I expect at least one article to rank

The plan for next month is to migrate to faster hosting.

We live in the era of the internet.

Everything is possible! You just have to hone some skillsets, and you are good to go. Online, age does not matter that much, just how good you are.

However, we know that it might be quite confusing as to where to start. Well, we have some great advice for you.

Ways to make money online as a teenager

If you follow one or two of these ways to make money, you will create stable cash flow. Just note that sometimes you will have to put in the hours, but you probably spend quite a few hours online daily.

So, no big deal here anyway. Instead of watching endless amounts of videos with cats, you will earn some dollars.

Surveys

This is one of the most common practices online. Basically, there are companies that just pay you for answering questions.

We know that it might sound hard to believe at first, but it is 100% true. You need to be at least 13 to sign up. You can be paid in real money on PayPal or get gift cards for certain stores.

Sell Your Creations

If you are able to make anything at all, try to sell it and see how it goes. If you can paint, sculpt, or create a beautiful DIY project, you have a change of creating a stream o cash just by putting yourself out there.

There are lots of sites that could help you with this. For example, Etsy or Artfinder. Do not be afraid and think about what could go wrong! Be positive and think about what could go right!

YouTube Videos

Although the monetization has decreased since the golden age of YouTube, it is still a viable option for making money online.

Here you will have to deeply focus on the quality of the content that you will create. Try and engage with your audience as often and as meaningful as possible.

There are lots of people who managed to create an income of thousands of dollars on a monthly base just from their YouTube videos.

Keep in mind that your portfolio will always stay online and will keep on growing. This means that your income also has the possibility of keeping on growing.

Work in Customer Service

There are lots of companies that have customer service support. They hire all the time and can even hire people as young as 16.

There are centers located from all over the world, but nowadays, you can work from home if you have a stable internet connection. This is especially true now in the midst of the pandemic.

They will train you for a while and be actively assisting you for a couple of weeks or until you get the hang of it. After that, you will be all on your own, making money on a monthly basis.

Most of the time, they pay you just like a regular company would. You might even need to sign a contract. So, make sure to read it carefully and do a background check on the company.

Manage Social Media Accounts

If you can grow a social media page for yourself, then it means that you could basically do it for others as well.

There are lots of people all around the world who want to grow their online following. This is only natural.

More people equal more money. If you already have a successful page that proves your knowledge in this expertise, you can apply for social media management.

See, there are quite a lot of ways of making money online. Keep on grinding until you meet your financial needs and do not stop there.

Ways to make extra money online

Making money online seems like a far dream for lots of people, but it is 100% possible.

Not only that, but it is in your reach at this very moment. We are not advising you to quit your job yet, but there might very well come the day when you will be able to fully work from home.

Even if making money online is definitely possible, and we will tell you ways of doing it, one thing is for sure: you need to devote time and energy to it.

With all this being said, here are the best ways to make money online!

Take online surveys!

This one does not bring too much money at a time, but it will add up. This method is especially popular with students.

It really takes no effort at all, just a few minutes per survey. Some companies offer up to 3-5 dollars per survey. That is great cash for answering some no-brainer questions.

Online Trading

Online trading might suit you well if you are mature enough. This is an industry that has never-ending opportunities and budgets. Even so, you need to study a little in order to grasp an understanding of what happens on the market.

There are more complicated ways of doing things or simpler ways, such as buying an index fund and selling it multiple times in a year. It is worth noting that this way of earning money comes with a risk, especially if you are not knowledgeable enough to enter in transactions.

However, there are lots of platforms that will let you emulate the exact moves of experts. One of these platforms is eToro.com. It seems that its user base is constantly growing, so they must be doing at least one thing right. Right? Usually, copy-trade features should be no brainers.

If you want money for the short term, these apps could bring you a couple of hundred dollars per month. So, go ahead and study your opportunities in this domain and make a decision.

Start your own website

You might want to start your own website. This is the way of making money when you are sleeping. There are lots of ways of creating one: some harder, some easier.

One thing is for sure, the concept of it is absolutely everything. There are millions upon millions of websites in the world, so you have to make yours stand out.

That is at least to your desired audience, of course. After some minimal success, you can start monetizing it through ads, affiliate links, sponsors, guests, and so son. The sky is the limit once you get traffic on the site.

Sell Clothes Online

This could be your own clothes or others. They can be brand new or worn. It does not matter.

The fashion scene keeps on growing. Especially the reusing of clothes idea keeps on circulating more and more in order to be eco-friendly. This is why even your worn clothes will sell faster than you might think.

Of course, they should be in somewhat decent condition; otherwise, people will not pay money for them.

Another interesting department of the clothing sales industry is the resell industry. This means that you have you buy new clothes released by beloved brands and resell them after the stocks are out.

Usually, you can demand a huge price that is manifold higher than what you have bought them for.

Trade-in old electronics.

Why would you keep those old laptops, phones, and MP3s? You do not use them and never will.

You got everything you need on your iPhone, and your brand new laptop. So, sell the old ones. You will gain two things: money and space.

If this seems to move fast enough for you, you can continue to look after these kinds of items in order to keep reselling them.

Do some freelance work.

If you are good at something, why not do it for money? Find out what skills you have and hone them every single day.

After a while, you will be able to sell your capabilities on websites like Fiverr and Freelancer.com. They offer all kind of opportunities for people like you and me in order to do a variety of freelance job.

They make things easy and let you choose exactly what you are searching for.

Rent on Airbnb

If you have a spare room, then you can rent it on Airbnb.

This will basically provide a good income flow from tourists or even people from your city.

Everything is mediated by the third party and you will receive id and payment beforehand. So, there is no need to worry about being scammed.

Host an online podcast.

This type of media has become more and more popular. If you manage to get a decent audience, sponsors will be relatively easy to find. Sometimes, they will even search for you.

There will be other ways of monetizing your podcast as well. You can advertise your skills or the items you are selling on other online places.

Just make sure to bring value to your viewers as well. They will not want to watch or listen to a 1-hour podcast about commercials.

Welcome to another update of 1 million dollar journey!

In this post, I will discuss what I did in August and what happened with my websites.

Let’s start!

Mentality

My focus is slowly starting to change. 

What do I mean by that? Instead of focusing on how much money this guy or that project can bring to me, now I am asking how I can solve his problems, will I be the best guy to solve his problems? 

I know it sounds like all the gurus out there. Still, when I compare a goal like “make 1 million dollars” to “inspire 1 million people to do something awesome with their lives “, the second one scares me and motivates me at the same time. The joy of having a positive impact on so many lives it’s so rewarding. 

Anyway, why not have both ? right?  

What’s crazy is that people started to notice this change. Or maybe it’s just in my head, but I think they feel I genuinely want to help them out. 

For example, I spent more than 4 hours with a guy trying to explain to her how Google and websites work in general. 

I knew from the start that this guy would not bring me any money. It was just me trying to help him out.

Guess what happened next? 

This guy introduced me to another guy, got around 50 dollars. 

Small project. Peanuts, I know. 

But this other guy introduced me to another guy and got nearly 2000 dollars. 

So you see how the universe works :))

Crazy. 

Okay, enough talk. 

Let’s see some stats.

Youtube

As you know from my previous update, I started 2 Youtube Channels. 

Since my last video, I got amazing feedback from you guys! Thank you so much! 

My focus now is to improve content quality and produce at least four videos /month. 

Channel number 1 has 6 videos. 

Channel number 2 has 8 videos. 

My goal is not to give up on Youtube until I get 100 videos on both channels. My focus is exclusively on the content, not on metrics like views or subscribers.

What I plan to do next month is schedule at least two videos/ per channel. One for every week. 

This way, I will make sure I am consistent, and I don’t burnout. 

Websites

I am happy to announce this month I got accepted on Amazon Affiliate Program. 

They reviewed my websites, and I got accepted. 

I am very happy given the fact that this affiliate journey is still pretty new, and it’s already starting to show some results.

An interesting thing happened with this website. I got hacked; they used a vulnerability on the wp file manager plugin. We managed to recover all the data in a couple of hours, so we are safe.

What I plan to do next month:

Change the hosting for all my websites. I use Namecheap now, and I am having a terrible experience with them. I have WordPress websites that literally have four static pages, and it takes 7 seconds just to get a response from the server.

Maybe I will write about this in another blog post.

And this can be stressful, worrying about what you will produce today, or tomorrow—constantly brainstorming for new ideas.

Plus, Benjamin Franklin once said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

But there is a solution to relieve all that stress: content plan.

A content plan is such a time saver. It gives you a clear goal for the week and a sense of direction.

What I will do today with you guys is:

• research new ways to create a content plan
• create a content calendar template that I will share it with you guys

Let’s start.

How can I create a content plan?

The first thing I wanted to do was to see if theirs a new way, a better way to plan content.

After reading at least 10 articles from top-ranked websites, the answer is no; the principles are still the same.

1. Set your goals and measure them.
2. Decide the type of content you will produce.
3. Create a content calendar. 

Basically : plan, create, share, measure and repeat.

And that’s your content marketing strategy, right there :))

Let’s define togheter all this points.

1. Set your goals and measure them.

A good starting point is to define your mission.

To define your mission for your own business, try this:

I provide [target audience] with [type of content] to help them [business goals]

For example in my case:

I provide internet marketers with videos to help them grow their online revenue.

Once we know our mission it’s time to define goals and measure them.

The best way to achieve goals is to make them specific and measurable.

For example a goal can be:

Get 500 subscribers to my newsletter with 20 pieces of content.

or even

Write 20.000 words in a month.

2. Decide the type of content you will produce

There are a lot of options out there and you have to make a choice.

Now, you don’t have to pick one and create only that type of content; you can mix them. But, usually, you should have one primary type of content and 2 secondary’s.

Don’t try all types, first because you will get burnout pretty fast and second, you want people to know you for something and associate you with that thing.

Here is a list with the best Types of Content Marketing you can use:

1. Videos
2. Blog posts
3. Social media
4. Podcasts
5. Ebooks

Bonus: Case studies, Infographics.

Videos

Videos, in my opinion, should be a priority. Especially in 2021, take a look at the estimated ad spending for videos in the next years.

Videos are highly engaging content, and with the raise of Tiktok, it’s very clear you should start producing videos.

Blog posts

If you already do videos, you can transform that video into a blog post. Learn how to optimize your articles, and that can give free organic traffic in a few months.

Articles should provide valuable content for your audience. I recommend to have between 1000 to 1500 words in length, but you should always test to see what works best for your audience.

Social media

With social media, you need to create and post constantly. I know that from raising an Instagram page to 46.000 followers.

As you can see from graphs, once I stopped posting my followers went down a lot.

One tactic that I learned from Gary V is to repurpose my content.

So, if you created a video for YouTube, you take that video and repurpose it for IGTV. Take the audio from the video and transform it into a Podcast.

And then you can take that video and transform it into a blog post. You can take that blog post and post it to Facebook and so on.

Take the audio from the Video and transform it to a Podcast.

Adapt every piece of the content to the platform.

Another form of content you can create is Infographics, Study Case, and Ebooks. I recommend creating an ebook once you have an audience.

Let’s get to the last part, which is:

3. Create a content plan calendar. 

As I said in the beginning, a content calendar gives you a clear goal for the week and a sense of direction.

It’s one of the primary element in a content marketing strategy.

There are several ways to do this.

For example, you can use Google Calendar and simply put the due dates for each piece of content there. That works pretty well, especially if you’re not publishing a lot of content.

Another tool you can use is Trello. Here is a template for content planner.

What I use is Google Spreadsheets.

And here I have the template that I use. You can download it for free.

Conclusion

As you’ve seen, there’s a lot of preparation work in your content marketing strategy before you actually create a piece of content.

Now when everything is set, it’s time to create the content.

With the research you’ve already done, you’ll have an idea of what type of content to create.

After you publish all the content you create leave it for at least 3 months and then measure the results.

How many subscribers you gained after posting that content? What about revenue?

I personally like to measure the impact of my content after 6 months. Especially if it’s a blog post, they tend to rank after 6 months depending on your authority.
