Ways to make money online as a teenager

If you follow one or two of these ways to make money, you will create stable cash flow. Just note that sometimes you will have to put in the hours, but you probably spend quite a few hours online daily.

So, no big deal here anyway. Instead of watching endless amounts of videos with cats, you will earn some dollars.

This is one of the most common practices online. Basically, there are companies that just pay you for answering questions.

We know that it might sound hard to believe at first, but it is 100% true. You need to be at least 13 to sign up. You can be paid in real money on PayPal or get gift cards for certain stores.

Keep in mind that your portfolio will always stay online and will keep on growing. This means that your income also has the possibility of keeping on growing.

Work in Customer Service

There are lots of companies that have customer service support. They hire all the time and can even hire people as young as 16.

There are centers located from all over the world, but nowadays, you can work from home if you have a stable internet connection. This is especially true now in the midst of the pandemic.

They will train you for a while and be actively assisting you for a couple of weeks or until you get the hang of it. After that, you will be all on your own, making money on a monthly basis.

Most of the time, they pay you just like a regular company would. You might even need to sign a contract. So, make sure to read it carefully and do a background check on the company.

Manage Social Media Accounts

If you can grow a social media page for yourself, then it means that you could basically do it for others as well.

The fashion scene keeps on growing. Especially the reusing of clothes idea keeps on circulating more and more in order to be eco-friendly. This is why even your worn clothes will sell faster than you might think.

Rent on Airbnb

If you have a spare room, then you can rent it on Airbnb.

This will basically provide a good income flow from tourists or even people from your city.

Everything is mediated by the third party and you will receive id and payment beforehand. So, there is no need to worry about being scammed.

Host an online podcast.

This type of media has become more and more popular. If you manage to get a decent audience, sponsors will be relatively easy to find. Sometimes, they will even search for you.

There will be other ways of monetizing your podcast as well. You can advertise your skills or the items you are selling on other online places.

Just make sure to bring value to your viewers as well. They will not want to watch or listen to a 1-hour podcast about commercials.

We all know Google is a HUGE company.

In fact, they are so big that in 2019 Google made 162 billion dollars in revenue.

They make 600 dollars per second. Which means they already made more than ten thousand dollars since you started to see this.

And we know if someone has that much money there is money to be made.

Before we start I want to say that I tried them all, so I speak from experience not from random articles on the internet.

Let’s start!

1. Make money online with Google Ads

What is Google Ads ?

Google ads is an online advertising solution created by Google to promote your product or service on their platform.

To understand how big is this Google Ads, EMarketer forecasts that Google will earn $39.58 billion in U.S. advertising revenue this year.

If Google makes that much money, this means they produce a lot more for the businesses that advertise on their platform.

To make money with Google ads you need two things:

1. You need a product or a service.
2. You need to learn the Google Ads platform. *

*This part is optional because you can outsource the Ads creation.

For the first part, it is easier to start with a service. For example, when I started, I was offering web design services.

You can offer any digital service, like Photo Editing, video creation, content creation, online tutor etc.

Here is a list with 100 Best Services to Sell Online.

The next step is to create a landing page where you write about the service you offer.

Here is an example:

Use at least 500 words to describe your service/product on the landing page.

If the price is higher, you have to educate your audience more; if it’s cheap, try to appeal more to emotions.

Now, that you have a service and a landing page is time to create the ad with Google Ads.

Here you have 2 options: either you learn how to do it yourself or you outsource it.

If you want to learn it, I recommend this course.

If you want to outsource, try freelancers because they usually have cheaper rates, and they can drive good results.

2. Make money online with Youtube

I recently created a new channel on Youtube:

You probably seen a lot of Youtube millionaires by now, and you probably think you need millions of subscribers to make money.

Wrong.

You need just 1.000 loyal fans.

Yes.

1.000 who will pay you 100$ a year.

That’s 100.000$ a year. That’s more than enough to make a living doing what you love.

This concept was written by Kevin Kelly.

Ok, now that you are pumped, back to our method.

Create a YouTube channel and talk about what you know best.

Why?

Because the process will be so much easier, you don’t need a lot of research because you already know those stuff.

And if you don’t know, the research part will not be a pain in the ass.

Create a YouTube channel and start building that 1.000 fans.

You will earn money using Youtube ad revenue program and placing affiliate links or with sponsored videos.

When you start, don’t focus on earning money, focus on the quality of your content.

Let’s go to the next method.

3. Make money online with Google Adsense

Let’s define first what is Google Adsense.

Google Adsense is a free, simple way to earn money by displaying ads to your website.

Here is an easy visual provided by Google to understand how Google Adsense works:

So you basically serve ads to your audience, like you do with YouTube.

It sounds easy, but the hard part is to get traffic to your website.

The cheapest traffic is organic traffic, but unfortunately, this type of traffic is not easy to get.

To do that, you have to learn SEO.

What is SEO?

According to Moz:

“SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results.“

This is what you can do with SEO:

You can:

• Increase ranking, which translates to more organic traffic.
• Increase organic traffic, which translates to more calls/leads
• Increase sales, increase ad revenue.

If you want to learn SEO, start by checking online forums like BlackHatWorld. You will find great guys there that are willing to help beginners.

Also, check Facebook groups like The Proper SEO.

Another way to learn SEO is to check SEO Gurus. I learned a lot from guys like Brian Dean and Neil Patel.

But the best way to learn SEO is by practicing.

So, start a website, create content and optimise it for search engines.

Recently, I started to create this kind of video for my digital agency.

I was trying to find that “doodle” “whiteboard” type of animation to create my videos. After hours of searching and testing a bunch of software, I found Videoscribe.

Here’s an example to understand what I am talking about:

This video has 4.8 million views. Yes 4.8 million, that’s more than 8.000$ for one video.

I am sure you already watch on YouTube this kind of videos.

Let’s begin with the method.

Make money online with explainer videos

Okay, for this method to work, we need two tools: Videoscribe and Youtube.

What is Videoscribe? Videoscribe is a whiteboard video software; you can create fabulous animated videos in no time without any editing skills.

And YouTube, well, I am pretty sure you know what YouTube is by now.

The method is really simple: we will create a script, we will record our voice, animate with Videoscribe, post to YouTube, and cash in $$$.

First step.

Create a script

Here is the preparation part and the most important one.

You want your content to be interesting. If the content is terrible, no one will watch your video. It doesn’t matter how good is your animation.

My recommendation is to write about what you already know. For example, if you are a baker, write about “different methods of baking” and so on.

Write about your expertise or what you are passionate about. You got the idea. It will make the process so much easier.

Don’t worry about what’s in trending and it doesn’t have to be in English, it can be in any language you know.

Usually, write at least 1000 words, which is the equivalent of 8 to 10 minutes of video content.

Recording your voice

Use a professional microphone. I use this one:

It’s just 99$ and it produces high-quality sound. If you can’t afford one your smartphone microphone is enough for now, you can upgrade once you produce some cash.

Don’t use passive voice and don’t be too formal. Try to have influxes in speech, if you keep the same tone it might sound boring so try to change the pace every 30 seconds.

Just be natural and it will sound good.

Animate with VideoScribe

Now we have our audio, it’s time to create the actual video.

Go to https://www.videoscribe.co/

Download the software and register an account.

Now to learn the software go to youtube. There are tons of tutorials, and the software is intuitive.

Upload the audio that you recorded to VideoScribe.

Here is a tutorial on how to create your first scene :

It took me around 30 minutes to understand the software and about 4 hours to animate 10 minutes.

PRO TIP: When you finish animating the video don’t render on local, save it on their server. You will receive a notification with the video when it is published. It will save you a lot of time.

Publish on Youtube

Now we have our video, it’s time to publish it on Youtube.

Before you upload it, install this extension called VidIQ.

This extension helps you to analyze a specific video, that means you can spy on your competitors and see what they are doing.

Also, this extension has :

• Keyword tools
• Tags suggestions
• Compare View Velocity
• See What’s Trending on YouTube

Ok, now go on YouTube, upload the video and make sure to follow VidIQ recommendations.

Upload a nice thumbnail, description, title and tags.

Today I want to show how you can make money online with Canva and Fivver. 

For this method to work, we need two tools: Canva and Fivver. 

First, as always, let’s define our tools. 

Canva is a website where you can create beautiful designs by just using a drag-and-drop feature. 

So it’s easier than ever. You don’t need any fancy software.

Next, Fivver. 

Fiverr connects businesses with freelancers offering digital services. 

So, Fivver is a place where people who need services are looking for people who offer digital services.

Make money online with Canva and Fivver

Now the method. 

We will learn how to create youtube thumbnails using Canva and offer our digital services on Fivver. 

Potential earning is huge and the method is beginner friendly.

Check this example:

So this guy has 2299 orders at an average price of 10 dollars, which means he got at least 22.990$.

That’s minimum, he could get a bigger order which could get him more money.

And he is not the only one who makes money online using this method.

Check this:

All of them have 1.000 + orders. This proofs that the method is working and can produce good money.

Ok, now that you realized there is a lot of money to be made with this method, let’s take action.

1.Register to Canva

First let’s create an account on Canva.

Create an account here.

Select signup.

Great. Now that we have an account let’s learn how to create youtube thumbnail using Canva.

How to make a YouTube thumbnail with Canva

1.Choose a template from Canva’s library.

They have hundreds of different designs to choose from. Choose one or you can design from scratch!

2. Add some graphic design elements, for example you can add banners icons, frames and more.

3. Click on the placeholder text to add your own text. Make sure to choose an interesting font.

4.Change the background and the colors.

You see it’s easy to customize your design with Canva

5. Last step is to download your YouTube thumbnail.

Make sure to create four or five thumbnails to put in the portfolio.

Now we should have an example to show our clients.

Let’s register to Fivver now.

2.Fivver

First step, create an account on Fivver.

Create an account on Fivver here

Select Become a Seller and complete all the information.

At the Professional Info section select Graphic Design as a skill and then select Illustration, logo design, and web design.

Now that you complete your profile, next step is to create our Gig.

Select Selling, and then Gigs and then Create a new Gig.

Now on the screen you should have this :

Complete all the informations.

The most important thing is the Title.

90% of the users will read the title. If the title is not good enough, they will not click on your gig. So make sure to create a good title that will reflect your work.

Use tags relevant to your gig like : YouTube thumbnail creation, thumbnail creation, thumbnail graphics etc.

For the price start with 5$, and then once you get experience you can raise the price.

For the description, you can inspire from others that offer the same service as you.

On the requirements section tell your buyer what you need to get started.

Usually a link to their channel to understand better what the content is about and ask them for specific details like colors or style for their Youtube Thumbnail.

In the Gallery, just put all the thumbnails that you previously created in Canva.

Now it’s time to hit Publish and you should have this on your screen:

Congrats! You completed everyting and now hit the button “Verify Now”.
Verify your account.

Finding clients to make money

Now it’s time to share your Gig to the world. Share it on Facebook, Instagram and every social media platform.

Tell your friends about it.

What you can do is find small youtube creators and offer your services.

This is how you can find small youtube creators

Go to YouTube and select filter search

As you can see from the screenshot I targeted fortnite creators, I know there are a lot of creators in this niche.

I filter them by selecting upload date in the last hour.

And I see this results:

You see, must of them does not have any views and they don’t use any thumbnails.

Now what you can do is contact them and explain the benefits of using a thumbnail on their videos.

And that’s it.

Now go out there and make some money!
